Andrew Boyd-age 58 former resident of Frankfort, MI, passed away unexpectedly in Houston on January 14, 2024. Andrew was born in Traverse City, MI on July 28, 1966 to Norval and Mary Ann Boyd from Frankfort. He graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy in 1984. As a teenager, and young adult, he worked his summers at Betsie Bay Furniture, and Norv Boyd Chevy/Buick/Olds in Frankfort. He attended college at the Woodbury Institute in Los Angeles, and at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He majored in arts design, including metal sculpting, designing some very treasured keepsake items. Andrew was married to Anna Nava from1998 to 2005 in Chicago. He designed hats for Glorious Hats, where Oprah was a regular customer. After this business closed, he pursued a career in car sales at Bert Weinman Ford, and then at Carson Pirie Scott in retail sales, where he created his fashion sense. He moved to Houston, TX, in 2005, and worked in demolition, at Pacesetters, and as a manager for transitional housing. Andrew will be remembered for his great sense of humor, his love for animals, hard worker, and as a cherished friend. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his 12 year old son Bentley of London, England, his mother Mary Ann Boyd of Frankfort, sisters Debra Anderson of Horseshoe Bay, TX, and Janine (Craig) Kielty of Traverse City, brothers Greg (Darlene) Boyd of Trenton, Scott (Viola) Boyd of Pflugerville, TX, and Eugene Boyd of Brunswick., ME, and nieces Megan Boyd and Kendall Kielty, and nephews Garrett Boyd, Evan Kielty, Travis and Tyler Anderson. He was preceded in death by his father Norval Boyd and sister Maureen Boyd. Burial at the Crystal Lake Township Cemetery, and a celebration of life will both take place at a later date.
