Andrew Bradley Obituary

ANDREW THOMAS BRADLEY, JR.

Born: February 28, 1932 | Died: October 22, 2025

Andrew Thomas Bradley, Jr., of Knoxville, Tenn., passed away late Wednesday, October 22, at Knoxville's Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center after complications from injuries sustained in a fall. He was 93.

Andrew was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and a lifelong resident of Rogersville, Tenn. He was born February 28,1932, to Andrew T. Bradley, Sr. and Sarah Ellen Carr Bradley. The oldest of six children, he attended Price Public Elementary School and graduated high school and college at Swift Memorial Junior college, which served both high school and college students.

After college, he joined the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Lewis near Tacoma, Washington. After military service, he worked for the Tennessee Valley Authority's John Sevier Steam Plant as an engineering associate, retiring after 34 years.

Andrew was well known for his community involvement and leadership in the Rogersville community. He worked with hundreds of local youths as a Little League Baseball coach for many years. He was a strong advocate for human rights and served as a board member for the Hawkins County Memorial Hospital, Green Valley Human Rights Committee, East Tennessee Group Homes of Rogersville, and other civic organizations.

In his spare time, Andrew enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing or tending to his yard, and spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him and remembered for his strength, integrity and warm smile.

Andrew is survived by his children, Sarah Andrea Bradley, Greeneville, Tenn.; Henry L. Bradley (Chyleen), Manassas, Va.; Sonji S. Bennett (Fred), Johnson City, Tenn.; Michael K. Bradley (Linda), Knoxville, Tenn.; Tracy L. Bradley (Herman), Inman, South Carolina; and his brothers, James Rodney (Thelma) Bradley, Kingsport, Tenn., and Henry Burem (Lina) Bradley, of Chattanooga, Tenn. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Christin Bradley, Henry Leigh Bradley, Jr., Alanna Cordova, Eric Richardson, Michael Keith Bradley, Jr., and Herman Desmond Brown, Jr.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Ella Jo Bradley; his parents, Andrew T. Bradley, Sr., and Sarah Ellen Carr Bradley; his sister, Mabel Patterson (Norm); his brothers Arthur L. Bradley (Dorothy), William K. Bradley; and his son, Andrew T. Bradley, III.

The family will receive friends 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Thursday, October 30, 2025, in the chapel of Broome Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, October 30, 2025, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Roy L. Dennis and Rev. Pamela Hoard officiating.

Burial will follow in Hawkins County Memorial Garden, 536 Carters Valley Loop, Rogersville.
