Andrew S. Durrenberger, 60, of South Bend, IN, passed away unexpectedly, on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 in his home.
He was born on July 26, 1965 to the late Stanley P., Sr. and Dorothy M. (Ferch) Durrenberger in Chicago, IL, and has lived in South Bend, IN for 35 years, coming from New Buffalo, MI. Along with his parents; he was preceded in death by his brother, Stanley Durrenberger, Jr.
Andrew loved listening to vinyl records and spending time with his cat, Ozzy. He was entering his second year of learning the Polish language through the St. Joseph's Young Men's Society of which he was an active member. Additionally, he was a member of the American Legion Post #284.
Andrew received an Associate's Degree in HVAC from Ivy Tech in South Bend, IN and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He retired on July 31, 2025 from the University of Notre Dame, where he worked in Preventative Maintenance for 33 years.
On April 6, 1991, he married Brenda Koloszar in St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church in New Buffalo, IN. Andrew is survived by his devoted wife of 34 years, Brenda Durrenberger of South Bend, IN; two beautiful daughters, Kelly Durrenberger of South Bend, IN; Sally Durrenberger of Walkerton, IN; two wonderful grandchildren, Payton Nichols, Carson Bell; and three loving sisters, Elizabeth C. Altergott of Elgin, IL; Ruth Bossom of Brookings, OR; and Barbara Nemitz of Baroda, MI.
A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. All will be welcome.
Memorial contributions may be made directly to the St. Joseph's Young Men's Society.
