Andy Easterling, a beloved longtime resident of Avinger, Texas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at the home of his best friend, Kim Parr, in Longview, Texas. Surrounded by family and love, Andy fought a courageous battle with cancer with grace and determination.
Born on December 23, 1968, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Andy was the cherished son of Max Wayne Easterling and Mary Elta Brown Easterling. His life was marked by his love for simple joys: fishing, metal detecting, and spending cherished hours at the mercantile. A man of faith, Andy was baptized in February 2015 at Pruitt Lake Baptist Church, a milestone he held dear.
Andy's warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He valued his faith, family, and friends deeply, and his gentle spirit will be remembered by all.
Andy was preceded in death by his father, Max Easterling; his maternal grandparents, Aubrey Brown, Mary Allen, and Alvin Allen; and his paternal grandparents, Doris Corbin and Jack Easterling.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Rhyne, of Hughes Springs; his brothers, Michael Easterling and wife Jeannette of Mississippi, Donald Easterling of Hughes Springs, and Alex Rhyne and wife Kim of Marshall, Texas; his loving children, Mary Etue and her husband Jimmy of Oklahoma, Michael Willtrout of Virginia, and Bret Easterling of Gilmer, Texas. He was the proud grandfather of six grandchildren and a great-grandchild, who brought him immense joy. Andy also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and treasured friends, including Kim and Jeff Parr, whose unwavering support was a source of great comfort to him.
