Andrew Craig Foss 61, of Federal Way, Washington went home to be with the Lord on October 7, 2024. He died of complications from a blood clot. His sister Lynn and two nieces of Olympia, Washington were with him when he passed. He is survived by his former wife Shannon (Foss) Spiller of Federal Way, Washington and his younger son Daniel Craig Foss. He was preceded in death by his eldest son Benjamin Andrew Foss in October of 2023.
Andrew was born on October 31, 1961 to James Harold Foss and Eleanor Jean Foss in Bethesda, Maryland. Andrew is survived by his brothers; David William Foss of Sarasota, Florida, James Harold Foss of Pensacola, Florida. Wayne Foss of Huntington Beach, California, Barry Allen Foss of Melbourne, Florida, Bradley Jean Foss of Camp Verde, Arizona and his sister, Lynn Foss of Lacey, Washington.
Andrew spent his highschool years in Selah, Washington and attended University of Washington, graduating with a degree in Economics. He was a lifelong Husky Fan and always cheered for them. He also was a devout Seahawk fan. He attended Saint Luke's Lutheran Church in Federal Way, Washington.
In his daily devotions he would attach prayers for himself, family and friends to his friends online. He worked for the State of Washington as an auditor until he was disabled by his motorcycle accident. He loved riding his motorcycle, snow skiing and enjoyed boating with his family. He loved coaching his sons in baseball and being involved in their daily lives. He was a loving father with a great sense of humor.which he shared with his friends and family. He was a lifeguard and enjoyed teaching and coaching his sons in swimming.
In the last years of his life, Andrew re-established a friendship with his childhood friend, Shelly Moses. They talked daily and he very much valued her opinion and friendship.
He enjoyed attending Al-Anon meetings and helping friends and family with their struggle with drugs and alcohol. He was passionate about serving others and helping them improve their lives. Any donations may be made to Al-Anon on behalf of Andy Foss.
Funeral services for Andrew will be held on Friday, October 18th, 11 AM at Masonic Memorial Park in Tumwater, Washington. Andrew will be interred next to his parents and his son Benjamin.
