The Kane family is deeply saddened to announce the untimely death of our beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin and nephew, Andy Kane, age 54.
Andy was born April 17th, 1969 at Resurrection Hospital in Chicago, IL. He grew up in
Elk Grove Village, IL and resided in
Portage, IN.
Andy is survived by his wife Helene (nee Kauzmann) Kane, his two sons Andrew and Jason; mother, Grace (nee McNelly) Kane: brothers Scott (Monica), Timothy (Carol), sister Pamela (nee Kane) (Thomas) Touzinsky, brother, Bruce Kane; his nephews, Benjamin (Katie) Touzinsky, Michael (Jamie) Touzinsky; niece, Bridget Kane; nephews, Emmett Kane, Jonathan (Maria) Touzinsky and Kevin Kane; great niece, Addison Touzinsky. He is survived by his Germany relatives, Martin, Erika, Andreas, Lina, Lisa Sophie and Maxim Kauzmann. He is preceded in death by his father Robert Kane and brother Glenn Kane.
Andy was a United States Army Combat Engineer veteran, having served 20 years in Germany, Bosnia and the United States. He was a family man and loved spending time with his family and friends. Andy was very giving and compassionate and would give anything to those he loved. He enjoyed fixing and remodeling his home as well as those of his friends and family.
Andy was a very generous man. He loved to have get together's, throw a party and was the perfect host. Andy always had a cold beer waiting for anyone who would stop by. He was an avid Chicago sports fan. He loved his City of Chicago, the food, music and Chicago culture. Nothing meant more to Andy than his wife Helene and his 2 sons, Andrew and Jason.
Our hearts are shattered. We will forever miss Andy's beautiful soul in our lives. Rest in peace Andy.
A Family Remembrance Service will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 5:00 pm at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Avenue,
Portage, IN 46368. A Memorial Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until the time of service at 5:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Andy's wife, Helene Kane. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.ee-fh.com.
