Andrew Levi Manning, who was born on November 2, 1980, in Alpena passed away peacefully on June 3, 2024, in Midland. Andrew's vibrant spirit and infectious laughter left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him.
Andrew's early years were spent in the close-knit community of Alpena, where he attended Alpena High School. He carried the values of his upbringing throughout his life, being committed to family, friends, and the pursuit of his passions. He is the son of, Randy and Mary Manning, who instilled in him the importance of kindness and humor.
Andrew's journey was made all the more beautiful when he married his husband, Justin on August 8, 2020, on Mt. Charleston, NV. Together, they built a life filled with compassion and creativity. Andrew's entrepreneurial spirit shone through their joint ventures, including the beloved Great North Pet Supply and Justin's Great North Grooming Company. Their commitment to the welfare of animals was further evidenced by Andrew's role as a co-founder and past executive board member of the Second Chance Animal Shelter.
His love for animals knew no bounds, as evidenced by his cherished bulldogs, Olive and Gordy Pig, along with their canine companions, Isabelle, Groot, and Ransom, and feline friends, Aspen and Ella. They were more than pets to Andrew; they were a central part of his family and shared in his life's joys and sorrows.
He leaves behind his brother, Shane Manning, and sister-in-law, Terry. Andrew cherished the moments spent with his nephews, Lucas and Seth, often filling their days with laughter and fun. His family circle extended to his in laws, Janet and Dave Trafelet, and Bob and Lisa Pochmara, along with sister-in-law, Rebecca Wolgast, her husband, Andrew, and their children, Lizzie and Jason, who were a source of joy and pride in his life.
Andrew's legacy of love extended beyond his immediate circle to include many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who found in him a confidant and a source of unwavering support. His special friendship with friends, Amber Smith, Brett Ries and Dustin Peltz was a testament to his ability to form deep and lasting connections with those around him.
Those who knew Andrew can attest to the warmth of his personality, which was characterized by his loving nature, kindness, and a sense of humor that could light up the darkest of rooms. He approached life with a playful spirit and a generous heart, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a heartfelt laugh. We take solace in knowing that Andrew's legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched. His memory will be carried forward in the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the love he so freely gave. Andrew may have left this world, but his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us.
In honor of Andrew's remarkable life, we will gather to remember and celebrate the joy he brought into our lives. His memory will be cherished forever, as he remains an integral part of the fabric of our lives. Andrew's passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his love and laughter will forever be our guiding light. Rest in peace, dear Andrew; your life was a blessing to us.
