Andrew G Metanias

Metanias, Andrew, 93, of Scottsdale, AZ passed away September 29, 2025. Andrew was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a man of faith and had a very strong work ethic that influenced those around him. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Joanne of 61 years, and is survived by his son George Metanias (wife Kristen), daughter Evangeline Fotias (husband Theodore), and 4 grandchildren (Andrew, Connor, Demos, and Molly). Andrew was born in Vraila, Greece and immigrated to the United States at age 29. He met Joanne and they raised their family in Chicago, IL. Andrew was a business owner who worked side by side with his wife at their restaurant in Chicago for 19 years. Andrew was also involved in his church's Parish Council and festivals; he enjoyed cooking with friends for many different church events. They retired to Jupiter, FL in 1994, and then to Scottsdale, AZ in 1999. Andrew lived the American dream of coming to this country and giving his children a better life. Andrew will be missed by those who were blessed to know him. A visitation / trisagion will be held on October 6, 2025 from 5-7 PM and a funeral service will be held on October 7, 2025 at 11:30 AM at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 8202 E. Cactus Road. Interment to follow at Paradise Memorial Gardens. Contributions can be made to the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church.
