Andrew Jason Miller, born on July 11, 1990, in
Silver Spring, Maryland, passed away on February 3, 2026. He was the second of two children raised in Montgomery County, Maryland.
Andrew was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mary Patricia Hartmann (Stewart) and Roman Isaiah Hartmann; his fraternal grandparents, Lavenia Mae Tilley (Calhoun) and Marle Richard Miller; and his fraternal step-grandfather, Richard Eugene Tilley. He is survived by his parents, Deborah Elise Miller and Barry Dean Miller; his sister, Alexandra Nicole Miller; his nephew, Jason; his fiancée, Lindsay Doersom, and her son, Ronnie. He is also survived by two maternal uncles, one maternal aunt, one fraternal uncle, and many cousins.
Andrew completed his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, after attending The Heights High School (Class of 2008) and St. Andrew Apostle Elementary School. After obtaining his degree, he completed an apprenticeship with the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 18, in
Washington, DC. Following his apprenticeship, Andrew worked for DC's Marine Engineers' Beneficial Association Realty Trust as an operating engineer. Continuing his career in DC, he later worked as the Facilities Manager and Environmental Health and Safety Site Lead at NBCUniversal. Most recently, Andrew worked in Smyrna for the State of Delaware's Central Region as a Maintenance Superintendent at the Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill.
As a little boy, Andrew loved the beach, the ocean, and any body of water. As he grew older, he was drawn to surfing, boating, and fishing. Andrew loved the outdoors, grilling and smoking meats, and being around animals-especially his Boston Terrier, Oakley. Hockey was his favorite sport to play as a child and his favorite to watch, always rooting for the Washington Capitals. Taking care of and modifying his blue Honda Civic ignited Andrew's passion for cars. He enjoyed attending car meets and frequently participated in "Cars and Coffee" on Sunday mornings in the Maryland and Delaware coastal region.
Andrew's love and kindness toward the world around him was unique. He made everyone feel respected, loved, and as though each person was his best friend. Andrew's heart of gold and warm smile touched the lives of so many, and he will be immensely missed.
