Andrew Newman Obituary
We are saddened to share the news that Andrew John Newman, born on March 1, 1961, in Jennings, LA, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2025. He was a beloved son, father, brother, and friend.
Andy enjoyed the Saints and LSU Tigers, which he watched often. He loved his family and often enjoyed fishing in his spare time. Andy's family and friends will miss his warm smile, infectious laughter, and his passion for Cajun and zydeco music, which always brought joy to those fortunate enough to know him.
He leaves behind his daughter, Lelia Duval, son Joshua Newman, sisters, Katy Fontenot (Darrell), Mona Collier, and brothers Roger Newman (Judy), and Mark Newman (Tammie); and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial visitation for Andy will be held on Monday March 17, 2025, at Miguez Funeral Home in Jennings, LA, from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. with a rosary held at 1:00 pm. A memorial service will be held in the chapel at 2:00 pm with Father Keith Pellerin officiating.
Following the service, inurnment will take place in Calvary Cemetery.
Rest in peace, Andy. You will be missed more than words can express.
Andrew was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Lawrence and Mildred Cormier Newman, and his daughter, Kristen Gary.
Cremation has been entrusted to Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings.
