Andrew Schoof Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kyger Funeral Home - Harrisonburg on Feb. 20, 2026.
Andrew Raymond Schoof, 57, of Harrisonburg, VA passed away at his residence on Monday, February 16, 2026 from a courageous battle against cancer. Andrew was born in West Virginia on May 18, 1968 and was the son of the late Robert Carl and Barbara (Kendall) Schoof.

Dubbed "a real legend" by his colleagues, Andy spent his entire career dedicated to automotive sales and had the innate ability to inspire and reward his team. A well-known figure in his community, he volunteered, played in golf tournaments and would never turn down the opportunity to drive a Maserati or Lamborghini.

A "very smart man," Andy married his best friend, Rhonda Ashley, who shared his vision for faith, fun and family boating on Smith Mountain Lake. Andy liked to fondly call Rhonda's daughter Haley "his bonus daughter." Andy and Rhonda's son Trenton was the highlight of Andy's life. Trenton's paternal grandfather was a huge Orioles fan and Andy passed that love to his son by driving to Camden Yards and together, they enjoyed watching the Orioles play baseball. Family was a priority to Andy including their pets a dog, three cats and a guinea pig Daisy, Georgie, Gracie, LayLay and Brownie.

In addition to his wife, Andrew is survived by his children, Haley Ashley of Churchville, VA and Trenton Schoof of Harrisonburg, VA; brother, Steve Schoof (Beth) of Naples, FL; and sister, Jill Yris of Naples, FL.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 5 until 7 p.m. at Kyger Funeral Home, 3173 Spotswood Trail, Harrisonburg. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, February 27, 2026 at 11 a.m. at Mill Creek Church of the Brethren, 7600 Port Republic Rd, Port Republic, VA. Pastor Glenn Bollinger will officiate.
