Trevino Funeral Home - Corpus ChristiAndrew Russell Scott, born in Shreveport, Louisiana, by way of Dallas and Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on September 30, 2025, at the age of 44.
Born on December 4, 1980, Andy was a man of remarkable resilience and determination. His journey took a challenging turn when he became a paraplegic; however, this did not deter him from pursuing his ambitions. He attended Penn State, where he excelled in law school, ultimately passing the Bar exam on his first attempt. His professional career began as an Assistant District Attorney in Corpus Christi, later taking his skills to the City of Dallas, where he continued to make a difference.
Andy’s passions extended beyond the courtroom. He had a love for sports that manifested in his youth through high school baseball and football, and later during his time at Penn State, where he participated in wheelchair basketball. His zest for life was further illustrated by his enthusiasm for great food, traveling, engaging in stimulating debates, and a keen interest in politics. A true automotive enthusiast, Andy cherished his muscle cars and trucks, collaborating with Mobility companies to adapt them for his driving needs after his injury.
Andrew is survived by his mother, Martha R. Scott (Daniel Perez Jr.), and his sister, Anjannette M. Scott. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold W. Scott, and his beloved grandparents, Gladys “Mam-ma” R. Scott, Manuel “Papi” S. Nieto, and Maria De Jesus Nieto.
Andrew Russell Scott will be remembered not only for his achievements but also for the indomitable spirit with which he faced life’s challenges. His legacy of determination, passion, and love for those around him will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A Memorial Service honoring Andrew’s life will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port Ave. A Prayer Service will begin at 2:30 PM. Services will conclude in the chapel that afternoon.
