Andy was born in Lodi on February 28, 1934, to Andrew and Ruth (nee Miles) Simmons. At the age of 17, he enlisted in the US Navy and proudly served his country from 1952-1955. He returned home and worked as a barber apprentice with Stan Gorski and opened his barber shop/sporting goods store in Ovid, a spot not only to get the best haircut, but also the best stories in town.  Eventually he opened a barber shop in Lodi which was the base for his successful Junior Lodi Drill Team. During this time, he was elected Justice of the Peace for the Town of Lodi.

In the 60's and 70's he developed the Sunset Campground at Lodi Point. In the 80's established the Ithaca Blown Insulation Company. He and his wife, Linda, moved to Fort Myers, Florida where he established Anlin Water Company and worked alongside his son, Tom. They moved to Spring Hill, Florida when he retired from the water business then eventually they came back to the Finger Lakes.

He is survived by his son, Thomas of Fort Myers; stepchildren, Lisa (Eric) Clauson of South Carolina, and Christopher (Darlene) Clauson of Dryden, NY; son-in-law, Greg "Hotsie" Getman; grandchildren Zachary of Tampa, Dylan of Fort Myers, and Amanda; step grandchildren, Courtney and Taylor Clauson of North Carolina; and by his brother, James (Judy) Simmons of Fort Myers and sister, Barbara Carmell of Gowanda, NY.

Andy was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Simmons; daughter, Dawn Getman; his sons Andy and Danny and brother in law, Doug Carmell. He was also preceded in death by his wives, Jean, Linda, and Jane. With special mention to thank Terri Sandifur and Denise and Stan Warne for their special care.
