Andrew "Andy" Alan Vickers, 81, a 51-year resident of Davidsonville, MD passed away on August 19, 2024 after a brief illness. He was born on April 8, 1943, in Charleston, WV to the late Andrew and Eunice Vickers. Andy graduated from WV Institute of Technology before moving to Washington DC to start his career. He was retired after working many years as a Chief Estimator for a large heavy highway general contractor.
Andy was a member of the Air Force Reserves. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved his role as a long-time youth football coach, in which he received a Lifetime Achievement Award for his commitment to youth sports from the Annapolis Touchdown Club. He enjoyed riding his Harley and was a member of the Annapolis Harley (Hog) Chapter.
In addition to his parents, Andy was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years, Elizabeth "Betty" Vickers and his brother David Vickers. He is survived by his children, Glenn Vickers (Debra) of Asheville, NC and Cheryl Jones (Duane) of Annapolis, MD; his grandchildren, Austin and Allison Vickers, and Andrew and Brooke Jones (Alex); and two great-grandchildren, Luca Ginzo and Leilah Elizabeth Jones.
Services for Andy will be private.
