Riser Funeral Home - ColumbiaAndrew Cole Vining was born January 10, 1978, in Albany, Georgia, to the union of his parents, John Vining and Deborah Cole Vining, and he passed from this life February 4, 2026, at West Jefferson Medical Center, Marrero, LA, surrounded by his loved ones.
Andrew attended junior high in West Monroe, Louisiana, but moved to Moss Bluff, Louisiana, to graduate from Sam Houston High School. Andrew later attended Sowela and graduated with an Associate degree in Process Technology in 2009. He went to work for Axial in Lake Charles, Louisiana, for a few years before moving to Ohio to work in the oilfield. Andrew loved to travel but still found time to come back to Louisiana to play golf with his dad and brother and spend time with his family during the holidays. From a family Alaska/British Columbia cruise, to celebrate his dad's retirement, to visiting several National Parks with his brother, niece, and nephew, he always made time to enjoy the moments. After several years of working in the oilfield, he decided to make a career change after reconnecting with the love of his life, Alicia. He wasted no time finding another job which married his love of the outdoors with a new career. He managed C&V Outdoors in Olla, Louisiana, where his outgoing personality, knowledge of firearms, and hunting skills served him well. This change allowed him to be home where he could focus on his relationship with Alicia. Her family became his family in every way. Andrew loved and embraced the role he played in the lives of her children and especially the grandchildren. He was happy going to their ball games, taking them to races, digging for crystals or doing anything they wanted to do. He enjoyed shooting and reloading ammunition, going to the casino, and playing with his fur babies, Zelda and Lucy. His lucky number was 8 and his favorite color was orange. He loved a good nap too! Andrew had a fun personality and a great sense of humor, whether he was singing in the deer stand, sending crazy selfies, or just joking around and pestering everyone, he loved to entertain. Picking fun at himself, he loved to say he had a "Master's Degree" in useless information.
He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Deborah Cole Vining; uncle, Roy Wayne Vining; paternal grandparents, Roy Basil and Sarah Vining; and maternal grandparents, Lewis and Clara Cole. Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, John and Betty Vining; significant other, Alicia Rowland; siblings: Ryan Vining (Karrie), Chris Bergeron (Suzanne), and Rachel Bergeron; children: Konner Davis (Hannah), Kelsi Thompson (Taylor), and Kacey Davis; grandchildren: Chase, Sawyer, Krew, Haddie, Weslyn, and Adeline; nieces and nephews: Alyssa, Cole, Tyler (Emma), Tyler (Kayla), Abby, Ashleigh, Lilly, Maddie, Katherine, Gage, Gunner, and Zeb; Great-nieces and nephews: Hayes, Brayli, Linley, Addyson, Bryson, Sutton, and Axton.
Andrew was a great guy who lived life to the fullest and loved with all his heart. With his desire to be an organ donor his legacy of love will continue. His donation will ensure many lives are saved and made better through his generous gift and sacrifice. Andrew was the perfect definition of a true HERO!
Memorial services for Andrew will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 22, 2026, at the Columbia Methodist Church, Columbia, LA.
