Andrew H. "Andy" Winkeler, age 98 of
Highland, IL, died Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Aviston Countryside Manor in Aviston, IL.
He was born on Monday, August 15, 1927, in Bartelso, IL, the son of Frank and Mary (nee Bergmann) Winkeler.
On Tuesday, January 27, 1953, he married Genevieve P. "Jenny" Winkeler (nee Gnaedinger) at Immaculate Conception, Pierron, IL, who passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2007.
Andy was in Bartelso, Illinois and grew up on the family farm. He went to school in a one room schoolhouse and stayed on the farm after school. He worked at Carlyle Shoe Factory and then he was drafted into the military. Andy served just under two years and served state side while in military. After discharge he went to work at Highland Box Board for 40 years. Andy enjoyed gardening and working in the yard. He spent many days at the clubhouse in Bartelso. Andy played music for most of his life. He enjoyed going to sporting events for his kids and grandkids. He loved playing guitar and was a member of the church choir in Pierron & St. Rose. He would perform at clubs and for people as well. Andy was a member of Knights of Columbus Council #1580, Knight Time Singers, Local #215 United Paperworker's International Union, St. Rose Catholic Church and St. Rose Development Club.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Monday, November 3, 2025, at St. Rose Catholic Church in St. Rose, IL.
Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 3, 2025, at St. Rose Catholic Church in St. Rose, IL, with Father Edward Schaefer, pastor, officiating.
Interment will be at St. Rose Catholic Cemetery in St. Rose, IL.
