Lucas & Son Funeral Home - PikevilleAndy Adkins, of Greasy Creek, passed away peacefully at his residence on February 24, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on August 27, 1940, in Pikeville, Kentucky.
Andy is survived by his three children: Andrea Spear, Dena Thacker, and Wade Adkins, and his brother Donald Gene Adkins. Andy leaves behind eight grandchildren, Samantha Adkins, Zack (Breanna) Thacker, Jeremiah Thacker, Kevin (Amber) Hopkins, Ricky Baker, Cory Adkins, Tyler Adkins, and Jacob Adkins. As well as, fifteen great-grandchildren, Trinity Tate, Xander Tate, Raelyn Thacker, Gabbi Gibson, Magnolia Callio, Violet Callio, Anzlee Thacker, Alora Thacker, Willo Hopkins, Jaxson Hopkins, Kameron Hopkins, Rockland Adkins, Ryder Adkins, Randy Adkins, and Elijah Adkins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ballard and Mellie Bentley Adkins, and his brothers Arthur, Homer, Raymond, and Oscar Adkins. Additionally, his granddaughter, Raklyah Callio, precedes him in passing.
To honor Andy’s life, visitation services will be held at the Greasy Creek Freewill Baptist Church. The visitation will take place on Thursday and Friday, February 26 and 27, 2026, beginning at 6:00 PM each evening. Special church services will be conducted each night by the Greasy Creek Freewill Baptist ministers. A funeral service celebrating his life will follow on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 11:00 AM, concluding with burial in the Adkins Cemetery.
