Mr. Andy Louis Govan Jr.

GOVAN Mr. Andy Louis, Jr. Mr. Andy Louis Govan, Jr., 78, of Toledo, OH, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, September 18, 2015 at the ProMedica Flower Hospital, Sylvania, OH. He was born, October, 17, 1936 in Toledo, OH, to the union of Andy, Sr. and Hattie Thomas- Govan. Most importantly to Andy, was his love for the Lord, his family, friends and especially grandson, Tony. He was a 1956 graduate of the Morrison R. Waite High School and retired from the Ford Motor Company after thirty years of service. Andy was an avid bowler with the Young Seniors Bowling Team, receiving a ring for a nearly perfect score of "299". He loved boating, fishing, motorcycling and cooking out for family and friends. He was a member of the Indiana MB Church, where he served as Chief Usher of the #1 Usher Board, 20 plus years. Andy was known for his great smile. Preceding him in death was father and mother; sister, Luvenia and special group of friends, Howard, Lyle, Robert and Eddie. Left to cherish his memory are devoted wife of 11 years, Barbara Griffin-Govan; son, Andre'; daughter, Kimberly (by former wife, Lilly); grandson, Anthony and sons, Mark (Andrea) Chapman and Ernest Tyler, Jr.; grandchildren, Charea Jennings and Alexia Chapman; great grandchildren, Amya and his best little buddy, Jai Shawn and a host of other loving relatives and kind friends. A Family Hour/Wake will be 10 a.m. Saturday, September 26, 2015 at the Indiana Avenue MB Church, 640 Indiana Avenue where Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. The Reverend Dr. J.E.
