Andy Wood, of Indianola, Iowa, passed away on February 10th, 2026, while surrounded by his two daughters. Andy was a graduate of Martensdale High School (1958). Andy honorably served his country in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1965 as a clerical typist. He spent his career working at Skeffington's Formal Wear in Des Moines for 3 years and Camelot in Des Moines for 12 years. Andy was a devout congregant at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Martensdale, Iowa. Andy was an avid reader, card player and enjoyed word searches.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Carolyn Wood; his son, Jeffery Wood; his parents, Curtis and Reta Wood; and his brothers, Gerald, Curtis, and Richard Wood. He is survived by his daughters, Tamera Orta of Martensdale, and Sandra (Jeffry) Christensen of St. Charles; his sister, Audrey (Charles) Strawn of St. Charles; four grandchildren, Noah Orta, Andrew (Samantha) Orta, Broc Christensen, and Devin (Courtney) Christensen; and four great-grandchildren (Graciella Orta, Ricardo Orta, Lila Christensen and Kole Christensen).

Visitation will be from 9:30 am to 11:00 am with the funeral immediately following on Saturday, February 28th, 2026 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Martensdale. The family invites you to join them for lunch following the service. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Suncrest Hospice Services for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Martensdale, Iowa.
