On November 4, 1999, Angel Ray Chavez was born to Michelle Mendoza and Ismael "Mario" Chavez in Austin, Texas. Angel Ray is the "Big brother" to his 7 siblings, Andrew Chavez, Alexander Chavez, Cody Frias, Bryan Frias, Brooke Morales, Gabrielle Morales and Jade Morales. To all his siblings Angel was the caregiver, a big brother role model, sometimes the one who disciplined them and sometimes the babysitter.

Although it was difficult for his father to be around growing up, Angel looked up to his grandfather Alberto Mendoza Jr. as a father figure. Angel's grandfather has shown him how to fish, play soccer, ride a bike and to be a lady's man! He was very fond of his grandfather, he learned to be respectful, responsible and a caring father of his own son Nando. Grandpa Albert always said to make sure to take care of your kids when you have yours.

Angel loved his mother more than words can say, he was always there for her with the good and bad times, Angel and Michelle grew up together and became "best friends". Like Michelle was told by her dad Alberto, Angel learned those same things to be better than them, never to settle for less, to always be respectful, be helpful to everyone and to raise his children with the kind of love and support that she had shown to him. To always work hard for what you wanted and to never depend on anyone.

At the age of 14 Angel started working at a Cajun restaurant in Seadrift, Texas called Bubbas. There Angel was admired and excelled in all his job duties, leading in management and as team leader. Angel made many friends there, when Angel left the restaurant he would still return to visit and kept in touch with all of them. Angel played football, basketball and track in his middle school years.

When Angel made the decision to discontinue High School at 17 years old from East High School in Victoria, Texas he just went straight to working. Once Angel was 18 with the help of his mom Michelle they purchased his first car and he was gone going everywhere. Angel loved his hot wheel cars as a kid so you know once he was able to get one of his own he was driving it like he played with his cars FAST! He was also very responsible with his car, always maintaining it like his grandfather Alberto would tell him.

Even later in Angel's life after middle school and high school he would return to the school and visit with his teacher's and the staff, some of them even kept in touch with him, they always had nice things to say about Angel.

Later on as Angel got older he met Anastasia Huitzil and they began a relationship, they then found out they were expecting and it was going to be a boy! On November 29, 2020 Angel and Anastasia had a son whom they named Fernando Legend Chavez, he was born in Victoria, Texas. Fernando was nick named "Nando" to all of us. Angel knew Nando as we all called him was going to be his legacy one day. From day one Angel had shown Nando that he loved, cared and adored him so much, he always put Nando first, he was his best friend. They would go everywhere together, Angel loved adventures so he took Nando on them with him everywhere! Nando had tried things that most adults hadn't as a child and as an adult like flying in a helicopter, visiting the snowy mountains of Colorado, fishing trips and eating at every restaurant possible trying new foods.

Angel loved Nando so much, he was a proud father, he loved to show everyone his son, he loved to go to family functions even if he had to make the long drives since he lived out of town. Family was everything to Angel. When Angel found out his younger brother Andrew was going to be a father he was so excited to know he was going to be an uncle and an uncle to a boy whom they named Alan Chavez, so Nando would have someone to play with too. Angel always asked when are we going to meet Alan he was excited to meet him with Nando. Although Angel didn't get the chance to meet baby Alan he is with him in spirit and watching him from above.

One day Angel decided he needed to make a different decision about his life and he decided to go back to school after Nando was born, he wanted to get his High School Diploma. So, a few months went by studying and he passed and received his High School Diploma. A great accomplishment, he wanted to make his son proud of him and to better his life for his son.

Although his relationship with Anastasia ended the love for Nando was greater and they both co-parented and loved and took care of him being the best parents to Nando.

Two years ago, Angel met Jasmine Benavides and she had a son Zaxton, Angel adored and treated Zaxton as his own. Together they moved to Falfurrias, Texas where they began their journey. The two of them were goal oriented and supported each other in everything they did. Angel was very proud of Jasmines accomplishments and her biggest supporter and would always brag about her.

Angel Ray Chavez is preceded in death by his great great grandfather Alberto Mendoza, Sr., great great grandmother Delia Mendoza, great great grandmother Sophia Ramirez, great great grandfather Faustino R. Ramirez and grandfather Alberto Mendoza Jr. and many more family members before him.

Angel is survived by his mother Michelle Mendoza and his father Ismael "Mario" Chavez and his seven siblings, his maternal grandmother Lupe Ramirez, his paternal grandparents, Aunt Myra Hernandez (Jesse Hernandez), Uncles Don Mendoza and Albert "Bo" Mendoza and his cousins Analyssa, Joshua, Albert "albie", Lily and his little cousins Josiah and Isabella.

Angel Ray Chavez was one of a kind, he will be missed by everyone but never forgotten.
