Angel Swank Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Holden Cremation & Funeral Service - Sparta on Nov. 1, 2025.
On October 26, 2025, our Angel - literally, Angel Marie Wilson-Swank, 52 - gained her wings after a brave battle with cancer. She never lost her wit. Even on her hardest days, she managed to make people laugh, roll their eyes, or both at once - her true superpower.
She leaves behind her husband, William Swank, and her children Jesika (Justin), Heaven (Matt), Leroy (Katelyn), and Emilee, who will forever miss her love, sass, and unmatched ability to make any situation funny. Her grandkids - Brady, Kira, Quinn, and Glory - gave her endless entertainment, mostly because she loved watching them give their parents the same hard time her kids once gave her. She always said she was too young to be a grandma, so she proudly went by "Maw Maw" instead. She was also Maw Maw to two dogs, Zeus and Nova, and a cat, Nala.
She is also survived by her mother, Diane (Mike), and her aunt Wanda, who both loved her endlessly and stood by her through every high and low, and her sisters Tamara and Faith, who will no doubt keep her memory alive with stories that may or may not be entirely accurate. She also had several nieces and nephews whom she cherished, each one holding a special place in her heart.
Angel was preceded in death by her beloved grandmother, Pat, whom she found her love of butterflies through, and her loving father, Kevin Wilson. Two of her favorite people that passed were waiting at Heaven's door to welcome her to her eternal home.
Angel loved the simple things in life: a good sunset, a cold Dr Pepper, and time with her people. She finally learned how to keep her plants alive (and we promise to try to keep them going in her honor). She took so much pride in her work at Big Cedar, where she poured her heart into her job and the people around her.
The theme song of Angel's life was "Break My Stride," and boy, did she live by it. No matter what life threw her way, she faced it with humor, grit, and a little bit of stubborn sparkle.
A Celebration of Life will be held soon - details to come. In lieu of flowers, crack open a Dr Pepper, watch the sunset, and think of Angel. She'd like that better anyway.
