EAST GREENBUSH - Angela Diaz, 88, of East Greenbush, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 5, 2025. Angie was born in Havana, Cuba, to Diego Amador and Praxedes Del Rio. Family was everything to her. She enjoyed cooking meals for everyone and spending holidays together. In 1960, she and her husband Raymond were married in grand fashion, and came to the United States for what she referred to as her "never ending honeymoon." Here, she worked as a beautician, bookkeeper, and spent years teaching Spanish to Continuing Ed. students at Albany High. In addition to her family, one of her most cherished duties was that as the loving caregiver of "Angie's Kids," where she created and kept numerous loving relationships with neighborhood families and kids that she babysat for. She was an active member of many community organizations and was an avid volunteer. Survivors include her two daughters, Marlyn (Tim) Davenport and Vivian (Rob) Donnelly; two sons, Ernie (Kathy) Amador and Ray (Sara) Diaz; grandchildren, Nick Moroz, Ernesto (Madeline) Amador, Damon (Katie) Amador, Katie (Joshua) Wygel, Kyle Donnelly, Isabella Diaz, Spencer Diaz and Wyatt Diaz; great-grandchildren, Samson, Selah and Silas; many beloved nephews and nieces; additional family in Spain and Cuba, her devoted "sisters," Milly White and Maria Gonzalez; and her brother-in-law, Felipe Diaz. She was predeceased by her adored husband, Raymond Diaz Sr.; her siblings, Ernesto Amador, Emilio Amador and Severa "Dolly" Barcia. Calling hours are on Wednesday, December 10, from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., at the Rockefeller Funeral Home, 165 Columbia Tpk., Rensselaer, N.Y. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass on Thursday, December 11, at 10:00 a.m., at the Church of St. Mary, at Clinton Heights. Interment will follow at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
