Angela Jean Johnson passed away on February 8, 2026, at the age of 51 at her home. She was born on November 13, 1974, in Midland Michigan to Phil and Ruth Ann Johnson. She grew up in Shepherd, Michigan and lived in Midland for the last several years with her dog, Leroy. She always loved playing with the rabbits, horses, dogs, cats, and sheep that were on the family farm. She grew up loving all animals. She participated in 4H and softball, graduated from Bullock Creek High School in 1992 and attended college for a short time afterward. Angela had many jobs and vocations over the years; she worked at Dow Chemical Company as a co-op in high school and shortly after graduation. She was a waitress for many years in her twenties and thirties and was very good at it! She loved the opportunity it gave her to visit new people. She had a special ability to talk to anybody about anything. She was very outgoing and friendly. Most recently she worked at Jack’s fruit market in Midland as a cashier until her physical disabilities no longer allowed it. She had a fierce love and compassion for dogs and cats, owning many special pets. She was easily connected to animals, and they loved her as well. Angela also attended Midland Evangelical Free Church where she volunteered in many capacities, along with meeting many friends who have supported her over the years. She especially loved volunteering in the nursery.
Angela grew to become a great cook, a trait she acquired from her mother. She especially liked making her mom’s bean soup and experimenting with new recipes. She hosted gatherings with her friends and neighbors and loved being hostess to many people.
She is survived by her father Phil Johnson, brother Steve (Dawn) Johnson, sister Sandy (Darin) Winslow, nephew Luke (Kara) Winslow, niece Hope Winslow (Colton Cleaver), and dear friend and cousin Jennifer Tyler, along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Angela leaves behind many special friends and neighbors who have looked out for her over the years, and the family is very grateful for them. Angela’s dog Leroy was by far her most special and beloved companion and will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, Arvid and June Johnson, Harley and Coral Johnson and her mother, Ruth Ann Johnson.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026, at Midland Evangelical Free Church at 11:00 am with Pastor Gib Giblin officiating. There will be a time for friends and family to visit starting at 10:00 am until the time of the service. There will be a luncheon following the service at the church. Cremation has taken place through the care of Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Anyone wishing to give a donation in memory of Angela, please consider giving to the Midland County Pit Stop (Animal Rescue) or Midland Evangelical Free Church Benevolence fund.
