ISHPEMING, MI - Angela Marie Sleeman, 45, of Ishpeming, passed away unexpectedly at her home on the night of November 11-12 2025. Born on July 11, 1980, in Marquette, the daughter of Steven and Julie (Ellsworth) Rajala, Angela was raised in Marquette and graduated from Marquette Senior High School in 1998. Following graduation, she proudly served her country in the United States Army as a Combat Medic for two years. After receiving her Honorable Discharge, Angela pursued her passion for cosmetology, attending the Paul Mitchell School of Cosmetology. Upon graduation, she opened her own nail salon within Jessica and Company, which she owned and operated for twenty years.
On July 3, 2010, Angela married the love of her life, Adam Sleeman. Together, they raised their beautiful daughter Julieanne and built a life filled with hard work, laughter, and love. In addition to running her own business, Angela also worked alongside Adam at his business, Cabin Caretakers.
Angela enjoyed spending time with her family and being outdoors. The family created many lasting memories camping together for years at Michigamme Shores Campground. She was known for her fierce spirit and loyal heart, if you were her friend, you were a friend for life. Angela was the ultimate "MacGyver"; if something needed fixing, she would find a way. She wore her heart on her sleeve, giving endlessly to those around her. Her dedication, generosity, and love for her family will be remembered always.
Angela is survived by her husband, Adam; her beloved daughter, Julieanne Sleeman, her beloved daughters boyfriend Daniel Beverly, her faithful dog Otto, parents, Steven and Julie Rajala of Marquette; her father-in-law, Randy Horvath; her (bratty) brothers, Gavin Dropik and Sarah Mosca of Wichita Falls, TX, and Chad "Wick" Dropik of Atlanta, GA; sister, Michelle (Josh) Perri of Gaylord, MI; nieces, Fiona O'Meara and Myiah Vanderlinde; and nephew, Max Vanderlinde. Sisters-in-law and Brothers-in-law Casja & Scott Mannila and their daughter Irja Hutchinson, Jenny and Greg Retaske, and Michelle Tavanier and grandma Pearl Rajala. She is also survived by cherished family members, Aunts and Uncles - Mike and Kathy Ellsworth, Susie and Tim McQuaid, Maribeth and Dan Larson, Wendy and her bloody mary pal Uncle Brian Pesola, the children of Stan and Ann Rajala, Uncle Neil, Uncle David, Uncle Scott & Krisi, Aunt Barb & Russ Nelson, Aunt Lori & Jim Pelkola, Aunt Diane Stacy, Aunt Patty Hillier, lots of cousins and friends with whom she shared loving connections especially her best friend and "sista" Jessica Pesola-Karnack, Amy McQuaid, Chris & Elizabeth (lizard) Pesola, Elizabeth Bulkley and Loni Randell, Shauna Lambert & Scott Ellsworth, Cassy Stone, and every Swenor cousin that made her smile.
She was preceded in death by her biological father, Peter Dionne; her mother-in-law, Gerry Horvath-Hosking; her maternal grandparents, Patrick and Rita Ellsworth; and her paternal grandparents, Stanley and Anne Rajala.
Visitation will take place at Fassbender Swanson Hansen Funeral and Cremation Services on Wednesday, November 19, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., with Veterans Honors to be held at 2:30 p.m. A reception will follow in the funeral home's reception room.
