Angelina Ruiz

Funeral Services for Angelina Ruiz, 80, of Brownfield, will be held at 2 pm, Friday, September 8, 2023, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Rosary will be held at 6 pm on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at Brownfield Funeral Home.

Angelina Ruiz was born on August 26, 1943, in Brownfield to Santos and Antonia Galvan. She was a woman whose life was marked by her deep love for her family and her warm and outgoing personality. Throughout her life, Angelina had a zest for socializing with both family and friends. She had an inherent ability to make everyone feel welcome and included.  Family played a central role in Angelina's life. She embraced the importance of family and devoted herself to building strong connections with her loved ones.

Aside from nurturing relationships, Angelina had a variety of hobbies and interests that brought fulfillment to her days. Cooking was one of her passions, and she delighted in preparing delicious meals for those she cared about. Sewing also held a special place in Angelina's heart. With skilled hands and a creative spirit, she crafted beautiful pieces that showcased her talent and attention to detail. Her creations were not only works of art but also gifts filled with love. In addition to cooking and sewing, shopping was another activity that brought joy into Angelina's life. She leaves behind a legacy of familial bonds and happy memories that will be forever treasured.

Angelina was preceded in death by her first husband, Pete Morin Aleman, who passed after about four years of marriage; second husband, James Ruiz, who passed after 32 years of marriage; parents, Santos and Antonia Galvan; and 6 siblings, Richard Galvan, Juan Galvan, Julia Ruiz, Mario Galvan, Olivia Ruiz and Santos Galvan, Jr.

Angelina is survived by her daughter, Martha Youngblood of Hobbs; 2 grandchildren, Myles Youngblood and wife Lisa of Odessa and Chance Youngblood and wife Jennifer of Weatherford; 3 great-grandchildren, Haden, Maddox, and Evie Youngblood of Weatherford; 4 siblings, Delia Lopez of Hobbs, Tony Galvan of Odessa, Linda Salazar of Brownfield and Jerry Galvan of Odessa; many nieces and nephews; and caregiver and special friend, Alex Correa.
