Angelo DeVito Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Burroughs Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Dec. 16, 2025.
Angelo DeVito, 85, passed away unexpectedly on Monday December 15, 2025 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He was born on January 28, 1940 in Italy to the late Nino & Rose Giordano DeVito.

Along with his parents, Angelo is reunited in passing with his brothers and sisters-in-law, Louis and Irene DeVito, Ezio and Patricia DeVito & Lucio DeVito.

Cerebral in his approach, Angelo knew a little something about everything. He worked as an aerospace engineer for Kearfott Guidance and Navigation for many years. Upon his retirement, he and Roberta became proud small business owners of Allendale Hair Studios in NJ where their employees were like family for thirty plus years.

A graduate of Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ., Angelo enjoyed the sport of fencing, specializing in foil, for which he received many accolades. He was also a member of the New York Athletic Club, fencing at high levels.

Angelo both played and coached fencing and soccer over the years and was so proud of his student athletes, remembering them long after.

With the spirit of a self proclaimed existentialist, Angelo was definitely one of a kind and he wanted you to know it. Above all else, Angelo took pride in his business, his grandchildren, the art of intellectual conversation, skilled political debate, and being a true patriot. He will be deeply missed by those that knew him well.

Left to cherish Angelo's memory are his wife of over 55 years, Roberta DeVito; their children, son, Marc DeVito and wife Sara of NJ & daughter, Carie Ivanovski and husband Christopher of Fort Mill, SC; three grandsons, Matteo DeVito, Gianluca DeVito and Alex Ivanovski; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, a loving extended family, many supportive friends and neighbors and a beloved kitty cat Phoebe.

At the family's request, no formal services will be held at this time.

Please consider memorial contributions in lieu of flowers. Donations in Angelo's name may be made to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospitals, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or at stjude.org
