COLUMBUS GROVE -- Anita Pauline Carder, homemaker and lifelong resident of Columbus Grove, Ohio, died on November 21, 2025, at the age of 83 at home.
Pauline is survived by her husband Robert "Bob" Albert Carder, sister Louise Otto, her 5 children, Troy (Cassondra) Carder, Cathy (Don) Carroll, Dale (Denise) Carder, Kelly Aller, and Julie (Mike) Metcalfe.
18 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Mary Morris, her sister, Judy Spitinale, her brother-in-law, Henry Spitinale, and her brother-in-law, Dale Otto.
Pauline was born in Lima, Ohio, on March 1, 1942. She graduated from Columbus Grove High School in 1960. She married Robert Carder on November 4, 1961, whom she met on a blind date set up by her best friend, who was dating his brother. They had a second date, and the rest was history!
Pauline was a devoted wife and mother. Family was the most important part of her life. Her hobbies were gardening and painting. She owned and operated The Woodshop with her husband, making everything from yard art to entertainment centers. She attended the Columbus Grove Presbyterian Church, where she served as an elder, deacon, and Sunday School teacher.
She will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all who knew her.
A private service will be held later. Memorials may be sent to Putnam County Homecare & Hospice in appreciation for their support and care.
