Anita Elrod Obituary
She was born February 27, 1956 in Stephens County, Georgia to the late J.W. and Betty Dooley. She served the Stephens County School system as a teacher for 32 years. She was a member of Mullins Ford Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Andy Dooley.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Elrod; her daughter and son-in-law, Alyssa Elrod Utz (Seth); her siblings, Analyn Booth, Mary Stowe, Karen Pressley, J.W. Dooley Jr., Eddie Dooley; nephews and nieces.
Graveside service will be held Monday, January 12, 2026, 2 p.m. at Mullins Ford Baptist Church Cemetery in Martin, Georgia with the Reverend Roger Elrod officiating. The following family members will serve as pallbearers, Michael Elrod, Roger Elrod, Alyssa Elrod Utz, Seth Utz, Adam Elrod and Bradley Elrod.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Floor 17, Chicago, Illinois 60601 in memory of Anita as she fought this disease for 15 years. https://events.alz.org/fundraisers/alyssautz
The family would like to thank the team with Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) for helping us best care for Anita.
Interment to follow in the Mullins Ford Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Anita Dooley Elrod.
