Anita Canals Fuentes, age 65, passed away on the night of November 26, 2025.
Anita was born on April 07, 1960, to her Mother Elida Gonzales and Father Pedro Canals.
Anita lived a full and abundant life, one rooted deeply in family, always at the center of her world. She spoke with immense pride and admiration for her work in healthcare, dedicating many years to serving as a caregiver in aging, disability, and home care. Yet, of all the roles she held, the roles she cherished the most were those that tied her to her family as a wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was her greatest purpose and her greatest joy. She stood for them always, embodying the heart and strength of a true matriarch.
Anita was a creative soul who found peace, happiness, and self-expression through crafting. She created beautiful, unique pieces; many of which she lovingly gifted to friends and family or proudly displayed throughout her home. Each creation carried a piece of her warmth and artistic spirit.
Among the Canals and Fuentes family, Anita was known for her photographs. She captured everyone, every milestone, every memory. Her walls told stories filled from floor to ceiling with snapshots of the moments she treasured most. If you were searching for a photo of a person, time, or place you simply asked Anita. She always knew exactly which photo book to pull, or which frame to point to on the wall. She was the keeper of memories, preserving the family's history one photograph at a time.
Anita also had a remarkable gift for growing things. With her green thumb, she could grow nearly anything from a seed or a simple clipping. Some of her happiest moments were spent on her front porch, admiring her flowers and thriving plants, and occasionally glancing up to catch a glimpse of the vibrant, exotic birds that always seemed to find their way into the big, beautiful tree in her yard.
As we remember her, we ask that you honor Anita for her laughter, her craftsmanship, her treasured photographs, her flourishing garden, and most of all her unwavering, selfless love for her family. She brought joy to many and offered hope in profound, meaningful ways.
Anita now rests in peaceful serenity. Though she is no longer here, we carry her with us. Her laughter echoing softly, her bright smile guiding us forward, forever lighting our path ahead.
