Anita Gettings,90, of Orange Park, Florida, passed away on August 25, 2025.
She was born in New York City, NY, on August 18, 1935. She grew up in NYC and lived in Longford, Ireland, for 6 months, where she and her brother, Patrick, lived with her family, the Gormans, in a thatched-roof house with no electricity and attended the village school, and she carried these fond memories throughout her life. She moved to Orange Park 50 years ago and was an active member of St. Catherine of Siena Church and attended Adoration every Tuesday. She was a successful real estate agent for Watson Realty in Orange Park. She was a member of the Red Hat Society.
She was predeceased by her loving Husband, Donald Gettings; her brother, Patrick Cox; her parents, Eugene and Kathleen (Faughnan) Cox; her Great Aunts, Evelyn Gorman, Annie Faughnan, and Lillian Rasmussen; and her Irish cousins, Dick Gorman, Eva and Paddy Joe Coyle, Nora Gorman, Annie and John Corrigan, Michael and Aidan Bannon.
She is survived by her cousin, Pauline Gorman Bannon, Dublin, Ireland, and her cousin, Teenie Gorman, Longford, Ireland. She is also survived by her Irish cousins, Richard, Elaine, John, Mary, Annette, Edward, Marie, John, Evelyn, Michelle, Killian, Vivian, and Fergal. She is survived by her NJ nieces and nephews, Eileen Ballance and her wife, Cathy, Kevin Corrigan, Mary O'Connell and her husband, Steven, Patricia Corrigan, Sheila Zeman and her husband, Eric, Brian Corrigan and his wife, Sura. She is survived by bother-in-law Arthur Gettings, his wife Nora, with nieces and nephews of MA. She is also survived by her dear friends of 25 years, Patrick and Margaret McGovern of Orange Park, and a host of friends.
She is in the care of Jacksonville Memorial Gardens in Orange Park, and her life will be celebrated in a Mass at St. Catherine of Siena RC Church in Orange Park, Saturday, September 6th, at 11 am, and interment to follow in the Garden of Prayer at Jacksonville Memory Gardens.
