Anita K. Jansen, age 81, of Fowler, IL, died on Saturday, November 15, 2025, in Blessing Hospital, Quincy, IL. She was born on February 26, 1944, in Quincy, Il, the daughter of John and Helen (Schuerman) Frey. Anita married Kenneth C. Jansen on July 27, 1963, in St. Brigid Catholic Church in Liberty, IL. He survives.
Anita attended Liberty High School and was a school bus driver for 42 years at Liberty School. The kids on the school bus were loved by Anita. Growing up, she spent many hours helping on the family farm with various tasks and hauling grain. Prior to marrying Ken she played the organ at Zion Lutheran Church.
Anita was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. She and Ken enjoyed snowmobiling together and she especially loved taking part in the Dogwood Parade, riding in their Corvette and tossing candy to the children. One of Anita's favorite activities throughout the years showcased her love of country music as she loved to go to Palmyra on the weekends for dinner and music shows. She had two favorite songs she always requested, "Look at Us" and "Farewell Party."
In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by her son Todd Jansen, of Quincy, IL; three grandchildren: Jordan Jansen, of Los Angeles, CA; Jessica Jansen, of Quincy, IL; and Jennifer Jansen, of Quincy, IL. Her sister, Diane (Rick) Keppner, of Cleveland, OK; a niece, Lisa (Marty) Beck; and nephews, Greg (Suzanne) Frey; Chad Frey; Kevin (Sheila) Frey and Eric Keppner.
Anita was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Larry Frey.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 18, at 1:00 PM, at Liberty Christian Church, Liberty, IL. Interment to follow in Xander Cemetery. A visitation will be held 12:00 PM until time of service at 1:00 PM at Liberty Christian.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society. Service arrangements are with Duker & Haugh Funeral Home.
