Anita Carolyn Rodriguez

Anita Carolyn Brown Rodriguez, (Oglala Sioux/Muscogee Nation) was the first born to the late Alma and Jacob Brown on August 24, 1942, in Lawrence, Kansas. She graduated from Sunset High School and later attended college classes at El Centro. Anita was a talented seamstress who sewed clothes, costumes, quilts and so much more. Anita loved life, lived it to the fullest and her family and friends brought her the most joy.
On October 16, 2023, at the age of 81, she began her journey in the home she loved, surrounded by loved ones. Anita is preceded in death by Brown siblings: Bruce, Fred, Kenny, David and Beth, along with niece, Jayne and nephews Steve and Jacob Brown, stepson David Rodriguez, Jr., and grandson Nicholas Rodriguez.
She is survived by her husband, David Rodriguez, daughters Sylvia, Kimberly, Abby Rodriguez and stepson Steven Rodriguez, along with sisters Alice Brown, Bea Lemus-Negri and Vickie, Katherine and Mary Sue Brown. She was blessed with grandchildren: Tera Yellowfish-Salcido and husband Tim, Aaron Yellowfish, Tyler Yellowfish and wife Yesenia, and Tynneson Yellowfish and wife Jasmine, Yuma Morris and Carissa and Eban Rodriguez. Great grandchildren: Damien, Julian, and Roman Yellowfish. She loved her nieces & nephews: Daphne Feyrer and husband Zack, Ashlea Brown Taber and husband Jon, Jason Brown, Robert Brown, Brian Rhodes and wife Jennifer, and Brandon Harden and wife Sara, James Harden, Jessica Brown McKinney and husband Chris, Jennifer Brown Hebert and husband Brian, Diana Cournoyer, Carity Wesson and Tara Brown. Great nieces & nephews: Sydni and Joseph King, Lauren Barriner, Holly Brummett, Erica Chehab, Rachel Cady, Nicole Cournoyer, Kyle and Nora Beth Harden, Liam Castillo, William and Phillip Brown, Chance, Alex and Vincent Taber, Chris, Autumn, Mikayla and Jace Rhodes, James Harden, Jr., and many more wonderful family members. She also loved all the fur babies throughout the years.
