Anita Darlene Roux, 58, of Dixon, IL, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2025, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, IL.
Anita was born on May 2, 1967, in Dixon, the daughter of Leonard and Stella (Colwell) Roux. She was a fantastic cook, enjoyed canning, and baking Christmas cookies. Anita also loved to go fishing, being on the farm, and her mini companions, her wiener dogs. To know Anita was to know someone so loving and caring - she truly wore her heart on her sleeve. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know and love her.
Anita is survived by her fiancé, Jeff Rhodes of Dixon; two bonus-children, Emily (Carlos) Montenegro of Las Vegas, NV, Joseph (Aliyah) Rhodes of Deerfield, IL; bonus-parents, Robert & Donna Rhodes of Dixon; four brothers, Leonard "Bub" (Theresa) Roux of Dixon, Randy (Cathy) Roux of Dixon, Michael Roux, Kenneth Roux of Dixon; two sisters, Linda Heinrich of Winnebago, IL, Terina Gladle of Tucson, AZ; bonus-grandchildren, Lorenzo and Aria Montenegro; and many nieces and nephews.
Anita was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Rebecca A. Roux; and brother-in-law, David Heinrich.
There will be a Celebration of Anita's Life at a later date, per her wishes. Cremation Rites have been accorded.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Granny Rose Animal Shelter in Dixon, in Anita's honor.
Arrangements were completed by Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon.
