Ann Androff Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 17, 2025.
Ann Louise Androff (nee Anderson), age 91, passed away peacefully in the company of her family on January 17, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; son, Frankie Hoder; parents, Willard and Eileen; sister, Mary Elizabeth. She will be deeply missed by those who survive her: her children, Terri (Dave) Barnard, Mary (Jerry Montie) Androff, Susan Androff, Julie (Ken Ohnemus) Androff, Mike (Nancy) Androff, and Kate (Steve Scaturro, fiance) McInerney; grandchildren, Calvin (Jess), Mack, Fiona (Bob), Joey, Leo, Tommy, Izzy, Danny, and Lily.

Ann epitomized kindness and grace. A caregiver through and through, she devoted her life to her beloved husband Jim and seven children as well as to the many children she cared for in the pediatric ICU. After receiving her master's degree, she worked as a school nurse for the last 15 years of her career. She lived in Des Plaines for most of her adult life. Ann loved to bake, sew, make crafts, read Danielle Steel, root for the Cubs, shop for bargains and look sharp. She was always up for an adventure and had an infectious laugh. Her Catholic faith and growth mindset guided her through many challenges. Beautiful inside and out, Ann's genuine sweetness was balanced by her dry wit and quiet strength.

Catholic mass will take place Saturday, March 15 at 11:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 794 Pearson St, Des Plaines, IL, followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the SPRED program at St. Mary's Catholic Church or to the Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research Foundation.
