Ann Barlow Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Beyers Funeral Home & Crematory - Lady Lake on Feb. 26, 2026.
Ann Barlow, 84, of Ocklawaha FL, passed away on February 24, 2026, just shy of her 85th birthday.

Ann Barlow was born on March the 3rd, 1941 to Ruth Matthews a single mother in Miami Florida. Ann never knew who her biological father was until she was 75 years old. When She was still a toddler she and her mother moved to Rochester NY. Her mother went to work for Harry E Yost who had recently lost his wife and needed a nanny for his 5 children. Eventually Harry Yost married Ruth Matthews and adopted Ann as his daughter. Her name became Ann Yost. They lived in Rochester NY until Harry Yost retired from Eastman Kodak. They moved to Tampa Florida when Ann Yost was in high school. She attended Hillsborough High School where she met William "Bill" Barlow in 1957.

Ann became Ann Barlow when she married Bill Barlow on October the 10th 1959 and together, they built a family. Bill Barlow Jr was born on November 22, 1960, and Donald Barlow was born on February the 8th 1964.

Ann had a variety of jobs including working Kress department store and became a member of the St. Petersburg police department being assigned as a crossing guard even becoming a supervisor in that capacity for a number of years. She later left that job because she was needed in the family business, Barlow and Associates as a Manufactures Rep until Bill retired when she took over and ran the business until she retired.

She is survived by her one and only husband of sixty-six years, William B Barlow. Her two sons; Bill and Donald Barlow, five grandchildren and five siblings.

Those who knew Ann will remember her for her love good deals at yard sales, of nature, animals, listening to classic country music, and watching shows at the Orange Blossom Opry in Weirsdale Florida. She especially loved visits with her family and grandchildren.
