Martha "Ann" Cox was born in Clarksville, TX as the only child of Willie Dean and Bonnie Cox. Ann and her parents moved to Longview from Clarksville in the mid1950s where Ann attended Longview High School (Class of 1960). Ann then attended North Texas University, where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority and graduated with a Bachelor degree in English.

After college, Ann married Charles Holbrook and they resided in the Dallas area. They had one child, Christi Holbrook, in August 1966. In the early 1970s, Ann and Christi moved to Nacogdoches for Ann to pursue an advanced degree.

In 1975 Ann received a Master's Degree in Special Education from Stephen F. Austin State University. Ann then returned to Longview (with Christi) to begin her journey in Special Education as a member of Project FAITH – a special education program serving 0–3-year-olds that were severely and profoundly impacted by physical and developmental differences. Ann continued her career at LISD serving as elementary diagnostician, Supervisor of Early Childhood Education, and eventually served as Director of Special Education. Ann was passionate in her work, had deep admiration and fondness for her fellow teachers and staff as well as for the students they served and their families.

Ann married Thomas E. Bumpass in 1980 and together they enjoyed the music of Willie Nelson, antiquing, supporting Longview High School sports, band and all the activities and endeavors of their three teenagers (Christi, Tommy, Libby). Ann and Tom moved to Kingsport, TN for a few years in the early 1990s – there they enjoyed the comradery of other "Eastman families" and appreciated local Appalachian arts and music.

Upon returning to Longview in the mid-90s, Ann and Tom continued building their collections of antique glass and pottery and through that hobby they made many wonderful friends. They became grandparents and by displaying certain behaviors characteristic of her own mother (aka Nana) before her, Ann was dubbed "Nana B" by the family. She took her Nana B-ing seriously and always made sure the grandkids had exotic baked goods (like Sprite cake) to snack on when they visited. Ever the early childhood development specialist, she would plan small activities to keep the kids busy so that she could secretly assess their development – in a fun and interactive way.

In recent years Ann and Tom experienced health setbacks, but Ann persevered in her reign as Nana B and managed their care and their household with the help of a very special group of caregivers. She is loved, will be missed greatly and will be fondly remembered. Ann is survived by her husband Tom, daughter Christi and husband Chris Ingoldsby and their children Sophia, Colin, Xianjian and Ilana; her stepdaughter Libby and her children Nikki, Spencer, and Hunter; and her stepson Tommy Bumpass and wife Alyson and their children Casey, Hayden, and Trey; as well as 8 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday Feb 28 at 11am in the mausoleum chapel at Rosewood Park, 1884 FM 1844, Longview TX with visitation starting at 10am. Arrangements are under the care of Rader Funeral Home in Longview. An online memorial book may be signed at the funeral home website, https://www.raderfh.com.
