Ann M Corbin

Ann Marie Corbin, 87, of Fort White passed away on February 18th, Ash Wednesday. She was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on June 24, 1938 to Thomas and Anna Cahill, the youngest of six siblings. Ann met the love of her life, Homer Corbin, on a blind date in New York City when he was a sailor in port with the U.S. Navy. Ann was married to Homer on June 23, 1956. In the years to come, they welcomed three beautiful daughters, Cheryl, Margaret (Peggy), and Karen into the world. As their daughters grew, they relocated from Dixie County, Florida to Gainesville. In addition to her work in the civil service at the VA Hospital, Ann was a talented painter, teaching acrylic and oil painting at Santa Fe College and in her home. She later opened an art supply store, House of Corbin in northwest Gainesville. Mrs. Corbin was also a dedicated water aerobics instructor at the YMCA. She was an avid cook, a devout Catholic, and a treasured friend and neighbor in Fort White. In short, Ann was a woman of many talents and boundless energy. She was a great lover of animals and through the years cared for dogs, cats, and the neighborhood deer who meant so much to both her and Homer. She was preceded in death by her husband; Homer, her parents, all of her brothers and sisters, daughter Cheryl Corbin, and grandchildren Amy Corbin and Paden Andrews.

Ann is survived by her two beloved daughters, Peggy Conard, Karen Lawton (Denis); grandchildren, Melissa Gouge, Kimberly Andrews (Drew), Stephanie Turowski (Chris), Shawn Lawton (Brandy); and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be held on Wednesday, February 25th at St. Madeleine Catholic Church (17155 NW US Hwy 441, High Springs, FL 32643). Visitation hour will be from 9:30AM to 10:30AM with Funeral Liturgy starting at 10:30AM. Mrs. Corbin's mortal remains will be interred at St. Madeleine Memorial Garden.
