Ann Florence Daniel, aged 91, was peacefully called home to the Lord on July 11, 2024, at her residence in Glen Rose, TX, surrounded by her children.
Born on July 19, 1932, in Glen Rose to Jesse Gilleland and Mary Francis Garner Gilleland, Ann was one of seven children and a lifelong resident of Glen Rose. Ann married Herman Buford Daniel on May 10, 1947, and together they raised three loving children: Celia, Jay and Judy. Ann was also a caring Grandmother to five and Great-Grandmother to eleven.
Ann spent the entirety of her life dedicated to her family and her faith in the Lord. Throughout her life, she enjoyed nature, peaceful walks, working in her garden, and visits and phone calls with friends and family. Ann was an avid pen pal to many friends, family members, acquaintances, and even a few people she had never met in person. She loved encouraging others with her stories, notes and memories. The joy she found in the simple things in life was an inspiration to all of those who knew her. Ann was a natural caregiver and supported her family at home and as a nurse in the Glen Rose hospital at Banard's Mill. She was also an avid seamstress and enjoyed creating gifts for her family members and the community. She was an exceptional listener and was a dependable source of comfort to her loved ones.
Ann was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband Herman Buford Daniel and all of her siblings. She is survived by her children Ceila Daniel, Judy Chenault (Louis), Jay Daniel (Laura), grandchildren Gilland Chenault (Wendy), Graham Chenault (Rebecca), Laressa McCormac (Scott), Kendra Foulger and Aaron Daniel and her eleven Great-Grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Wiley Funeral Home in Glen Rose on Sunday, July 14th from 2-4pm. The graveside service will be held at Ward Branch Cemetery on Monday, July 15th at 10:00am.
Ann will be remembered as a loving and dedicated Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother and a woman of great faith whose intellect and incredible kindness will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
