Ann Ingle Rucker Leonard

1961 - 2023

Ann Ingle Rucker Leonard passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 5, 2023. She was born March 23, 1961 in Greensboro, the second child of Walker Fry Rucker and Mary Rebecca Rucker. She attended Irving Park Elementary, the Greensboro Day School and graduated from Walter Hines Page High School in 1979. She graduated with honors from Hollins College in 1983 with a double major in French and History and was elected into Phi Beta Kappa Society, Phi Alpha Theta Honor Society, Phi Delta Phi Societe d'Honneur Francaise and received her Certificat Pratique de la langue Francaise (1st Degre) with honors. She enjoyed her junior year studying French language in Paris with several of her best friends. She went on to enroll in the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law and graduated with a Juris Doctor in 1987. She practiced law with Adams, Kleemeier, Hagan, Hannah, and Fouts PLLC in Greensboro.
Ann loved her family, her many friends, her travels and her books. She was most happy spending time with her family and friends at the beach cottage in Morehead City.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents Walker Fry Rucker and Rebecca Frazier Rucker and by her elder brother Walker Fry "Ruck" Rucker, Jr. She is survived by her younger brother James Gray Rucker, his wife Melinda Collins Rucker, and their children James Gray Rucker, Jr., Lindsay Meriwether Rucker and Elizabeth Hall Rucker.
A private family burial will take place on Monday, March 13, 2023 at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
