Ann Louise Jablonski of Madison WI passed away on February 1, 2026, at age 78, after a long battle with cancer. She was known for her intelligence and competence and loved for her generosity, kindness and loyalty. Her warmth and laughter will be missed wherever friends gather.

Ann was born in November 1947 in Buffalo NY to Leo and Marion Jablonski. She came to Madison in 1965 to study History at the University of Wisconsin. She went on to work as an Aide to several Wisconsin State Legislators before embarking on a career as a Government Relations Consultant. For 12 years she served on the C4 Board of Clean Wisconsin, helping identify political candidates who would best support Clean Wisconsin’s environmental goals.

Ann loved the arts, particularly opera, theater, photography and literature. She loved to travel and especially enjoyed wintering with friends in Florida and visiting relatives and friends throughout the country. She was known for her culinary skills and her beautiful garden.

Ann is survived by her husband George Macheel of Madison WI, their son Nathan Macheel (Lisa Park) and grandson Aiden George Park-Macheel of Salt Lake City UT, and her brother Richard Jablonski of Sebastian FL.

A celebration of Ann’s life will be held in Madison WI at a future date. Please email [email protected] to be notified of the date and venue.
