Mrs. Ann Brantley McDaniel, age 84, beloved wife of Douglas "Doug" McDaniel of Soperton passed away peacefully on Monday morning, November 10, 2025 at Treutlen County Health and Rehabilitation Center in Soperton.

Born in Jacksonville, Florida, she was one of fifteen children born to the late Oliver Lonzo Brantley and Gladys Evalee Edge Brantley. She was the oldest daughter which gave her many responsibilities that she treasured, but the biggest being, organizing and planning family reunions. She was determined to keep her family close until her passing. One could say, "She was the glue that kept the Family together". (Just know that she has a record book of everyone who attended.) On July 4, 1962 she married the love of her life. They enjoyed 63 years together and created a beautiful life and family. She was a homemaker and a bookkeeper for Doug's Electrical Service for 30 years, allowing her to be by Doug's side daily. Together , they built a life filled with Love, Laughter and Faith – A life centered around family, hard work and togetherness. As much as she loved her children, there are no words to express her love for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved spending time with them daily.

One of her greatest joys was camping, whether it was a distant trip or a simple camping trip. They cherished the time they spent together and the memories they made along the way.

Ann was a woman of strong faith and a member of Fellowship Holiness Church in Soperton. Her faith was the foundation of her life and the quiet strength that carried her through all seasons.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by an infant son, Gary Douglas McDaniel, siblings, Donald Brantley and his wife, Lois, Frank Brantley, Joyce Ward and her husband, Billy, Steve Brantley, a grandson, Judson Rogers and brother in laws, J. B. Giles and Bruce Morris.

Mrs. McDaniel leaves behind, her devoted and loving husband, Doug McDaniel, Soperton, GA, children, Lynn McDonald (Charles), Soperton, GA, Dwayne McDaniel (Penny), Soperton, GA, Daryl McDaniel, Statesboro, GA, Jan Donaldson (Benjie), Metter, GA, Jeana Brooks (Jason), Soperton, GA, siblings, Hilbron Brantley (Sandy), Macon, Helen Brantley Giles, Soperton, Buck Brantley (Patti), Vidalia, Shannon Brantley, Norristown Community, Brenda Brantley, Soperton, Dale Brantley (Ronda), Soperton, Nell Brantley Brown (Jimmy), Soperton, Teresa Brantley Morris, Soperton, Vivian Davis, Soperton, Dervin Brantley (Dorothy), McRae, sister in laws, Annette Brantley and Diane Brantley, eleven grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and countless nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at the Blackville Church of God with Pastors Barry Peavy, Calvin Anderson and Kenny Edge officiating.

Mrs. McDaniel will be laid to rest beside her infant son in the Red Bluff Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, C. J. McDonald, Jeffery Rogers, Jeremy Rogers, Jake Brooks, Rak Donaldson, Garrett Thigpen, Matt McGowan, Delmar Poole and Wes Brantley.

Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Sammons Funeral Home or friends and family may call, at the pond house, at the home of Dwayne and Penny McDaniel.

Ann's legacy of love, faith and family will live on in all who knew her. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her deep devotion to her loved ones and the joy she found in every simple beautiful moment if life.
