Ann Mossucco Obituary

Publish in a newspaper

Ann Mossucco (nee Stasio), 92 of Cedar Grove, N.J., passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, November 10, 2025.
Born in Newark, N.J., Ann was a graduate of Barringer High School in Newark, Class of 1951. Her classmates said her beautiful smile was like a radiant sunbeam that warmed anyone around her. After completing her education there, she worked for Bell Telephone as an operator, where she was known for her patience, professionalism, and kindness. She met and married the love of her life, Frank Mossucco, and later left her job to dedicate herself fully to starting and building a family - a role she treasured above all others.
Together, they built a life centered on love, faith, and family. Their marriage, which lasted more than six decades until Frank's passing on June 14, 2024, was an enduring example of devotion and mutual care.
Ann was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, a life-changing illness that brought her countless challenges over the years. Ann never allowed it to define her spirit. Through every obstacle, she met life with quiet courage, humor, and a steadfast faith that inspired everyone around her. Ann turned hardship into strength and limitation into love.
Ann was a devout Roman Catholic and a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Cedar Grove. Her faith was her foundation - a quiet strength that guided her through both joy and hardship.
Those blessed to know Ann will remember her as a woman of caring - always ready to help others, whether it was tending to a family member in need, comforting a friend, or lovingly watching over her nieces and nephews, all of whom adored her. Ann had a green thumb and had a knack for bringing plants back to life. Ann loved to dance and listen to music. Those who knew her would hear her calling Cousin Brucie on 101.1 WCBS FM with a special request or a tribute for friends and family members. She loved playing cards, especially Pinochle and Briscola.
Ann was predeceased by her beloved husband, Frank Mossucco; her parents, Anthony and Theresa (nee Strazza) Stasio; her brothers Louis, Arthur (and wife Jenny), Henry (and wife Ann), and Michael Stasio; and by cherished in-laws Carmella, Michael, Concetta Mossucco DeVito, Anthony, Bridgette, and Richard Mossucco.
Ann is survived by her children, Gina Maffucci and her husband, Michael and Frank M. Mossucco; grandchildren, Elaina Maffucci and Armando Nardone, Michael A. and Jenna Maffucci, Lauren N. and Aaron Aschendorf.; great-grandchildren Vienna, Michael F. Maffucci, and Armando M. Nardone; and sister-in-law Adele Mossucco & Rae Mossucco. Survivors include her loving nieces and nephews.
The family will receive relatives and friends and Friday, Nov. 14 from 5-7 p.m. at Shook's Cedar Grove Funeral Home, 486 Pompton Ave., Cedar Grove. Services will begin on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Cedar Grove with interment to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Upper Montclair, N.J.
