Ann Orwig Obituary

Ann M. (Coad) Orwig, of Red Lion, entered into rest at WellSpan York Hospital on Monday, December 22, 2025, at the age of 70. She was the wife of Daniel E. Orwig, whom she married on May 16, 1981.

Ann was born in Washington, D.C., on September 14, 1955, to the late Robert and Suzanne (Gilman) Coad. Upon graduating from Hagerstown High School, she attended the York Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1976. Ann was employed by York Hospital, now WellSpan, until her retirement in 2019.

Ann was a Longaberger Basket Consultant, a life member of the Laurel Fire Company, Scout Committee Chair for Troop 155, and a member of the Red Lion Ambulance Club. She loved reading, enjoyed cooking, and cherished spending time with her grandchildren.

Besides her husband, Ann is survived by her sons, Scott D. Orwig and his wife, Christy, of Waynesboro, and Brian J. Orwig and his wife, Danielle, of Winterstown. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Michael A. Orwig and Sara E. Orwig, both of Waynesboro, and Cole D. Orwig and Lilly B. Orwig, both of Winterstown, as well as her sister, Deborah Brady, of Maryland.

Services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Wagner-Elfner and Burg Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion, is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to the Kaltreider Benfer Library, 147 S. Charles Street, Red Lion, PA 17356.
