Ann Nilan Crossan Ross, 81, of Newark, DE, formerly of Kennett Square, PA, passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2007 at Franciscan Health Care in Hockessin, DE. She was the wife of William K. Ross, Jr., with whom she shared 12 years of marriage. Her first husband, William R. Crossan, passed away in 1991 and together they shared 44 years of marriage. Born in Kennett Square, PA, she was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Helen McLaughlin Nilan. A graduate of Kennett High School and St. Francis School of Nursing, she was a member of the Junior Board at St. Francis Hospital. She was also a member of the Newark New Century Club and the University of Delaware Blue and Gold Club. Ann was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family. In addition to her husband, survivors include: one son, William R. Crossan, II, Major, U.S. Army, Ret. and his wife, Liz of Harker Heights, TX; one daughter, Jane Elizabeth Crossan of San Diego, CA; one sister, Kitty Burns of Wilmington, DE; and three grandchildren, William R. Crossan, III, Jesse Lee Crossan, and Luke Frederick Crossan. She was predeceased by her brother, Ted Nilan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at St. John�s Church, Main St., Newark, DE 19711. Interment will be in Kemblesville United Methodist Cemetery, Rt. 896, Kemblesville, PA . Memorial contributions may be made to Delaware Hospice, 3515 Silverside Road, Wilmington, DE 19810.
