Ann Ryan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Toale Brothers Funeral Home & Crematory - Colonial Chapel - Sarasota on Jan. 23, 2026.
Ann T. Ryan of Venice, Florida passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026, at the age of 98. Ann was born on November 20, 1927, to her parents Brigid and James, who immigrated from Ireland at the turn of the 20th century.

She was the youngest of 4 siblings who were born in the Chelsea section of Manhattan in NYC. She was raised in the traditional Irish Catholic fashion and her faith continued to be a central cornerstone throughout her life. This could be evidenced, in part, by her continuous contributions of both volunteered time and financial donations to the poor and those in need.

Ann remained single throughout her life but took great pride in being involved in the lives of all of her nieces and nephews.

She worked her way up the corporate ladder ultimately assuming the position of Custom Service Manager of a large corporation in midtown Manhattan. She loved the city and took delight in the theater and other cultural events.

In her middle-aged years Ann pursued a Bachelor of Art degree at Fordham University in the Bronx. She took every opportunity to travel the globe and cruise the Caribbean.

She was an avid reader, a wicked card player and enjoyed painting and watercolors.

She is survived by ten nieces and nephews and 18 grand-nieces and nephews.
