Ann Stasio Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Doherty Funeral Homes, Inc. - Pike Creek on Jan. 19, 2025.
Ann Stasio, 93 of Newark, Delaware passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, January 15, 2025. Ann was born in Newark, NJ to the late Joe Basto and Beatrice Basto (Mazzella).
After finishing school, Ann became a seamstress in the bridal department at Bamberger's where she would meet the love of her life and future husband, Henry.
Besides her parents, Ann was predeceased by her beloved Henry and two brothers, Donald and Joe (Junior) Basto. Ann is survived by her children, Linda Ingersoll, Michael Stasio (Lisa), Kathy Winterringer (Jeff) and Anthony Stasio. Grandchildren, Michael Stasio, Andy Halko (Meredith), Matthew Stasio (Idalis), Nick, Lauren and Marisa Stasio. Great Grandchildren, Enzo, Nicco, Valentina and Vita Stasio and Leanna and Lowen Halko. She is also survived by two sisters, Delores Bianco of Bayville, NJ and Jackie Cousens (Bob) of Dover, DE; and many nieces and nephews who affectionately called her Aunt "Honey".
In her younger years, Ann enjoyed Italian cooking, trips to Atlantic City, shopping and going to the movies. More recently, she enjoyed playing with her great grandchildren, talking to her sisters on the phone and watching Hallmark movies. For Ann, there was no greater love and happiness than being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Nicholas Biasotto and Staff for their many years of care and more recently to Ray, Kristy and Kayla for their exceptional care in keeping our mother comfortable in her home.
Services for Ann will be held privately with her family.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1999, Memphis, TN 38101.
