Ann A. Tressler, age 102 passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2022. She was born July 10, 1920 in Windber, PA, a daughter of the late John and Marie (Tanyi) Mitchey who traveled to the U.S. from Hungary. On August 18, 1951 she married James Tressler at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church known then as the Old Stone Church on the boulevard. They were the last couple to be married at that church before the parishioners moved to the N. Union St location. Ann and James shared 40 years together before he passed in February of 1991.
Ann was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and altar society in Tecumseh for over 71 years. Ann's work in fashion and design extended beyond her job using her creativity and beautiful seamstress work to create her family's clothing. She also enjoyed crocheting blankets and scarfs. She was a wonderful cook and baker creating healthy foods from scratch for her family.
She was an avid Detroit Tiger fan as well as the U of M football, enjoying many games at the Big House. Ann and her husband James enjoyed going to dances around the area especially Tecumseh Products Band.
Ann was very loving caring person who will be missed by those who loved her.
Ann is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Scott) Kennedy and their children and grandchildren; her daughter through marriage Mary Cross and grandson, Todd Cross; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, James; she was preceded in death by her siblings, Louis, Margret, John, Steve, Rose and Jesse; son through marriage Thomas J. Tressler, son-in-law, Carl, and grandson, Kevin Cross. Warren her special friend and dance partner.
Private family services were held for Ann at the Clinton Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes with Fr. Daniel Wheeler officiating. Interment was in St. Dominic Cemetery in Clinton.
