Ann Wandrie Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 1, 2025.
Born on September 10, 1936, in Biloxi, Mississippi, to George and Rose Mackay, Ann spent most of her life in Flint and the surrounding areas. In August 1974, she married the love of her life, Henry Wandrie II, with whom she shared many years of love and partnership until his passing.

Ann dedicated her career to General Motors, working at the Flint Truck and Bus Assembly plant until her retirement. Outside of work, she was a devoted volunteer, contributing her time and energy to the American Legion Post 294 Ladies Auxiliary and the Shriner Hillbilly organization. She also loved traveling, especially making trips back to Biloxi to visit her family and reconnect with her roots.

Above all, Ann was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her greatest pride came from her family, and she especially treasured time spent with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Robert Gregory, Michelle Coon, and Henry Wandrie III (Christa Wandrie); and her grandchildren, Mason Coon, Morgan Coon, Kayla Wandrie, and Henry Wandrie IV; her sisters, Charlotte Mackay and Rose Mary Asman.

Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Wandrie II; her parents, George and Rose Mackay; her brother, Charles Mackay (Carlene Mackay) and lifelong friend Marlene Johnson.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Legion Post 294 Ladies Auxiliary.

I knew Ann when I lived in Hale as part of the Red Hat Society and volunteer work. Ann made any gathering more fun. Her spirit of love will live on in me and all the many lives she touched. Wishing you peace and the support and comfort you need at this time.

I met Ann back in 2015 at a TOPS Group.
The nicest lady ever. (I don't believe she had a mean bone in her body.)
I remember when she reached out to me and said she Finally made KOP Status. So proud of her to hit goal weight and keep it up.
Ohh and the Amazing Grape Salad she'd make a bring to functions.
Good Bye my friend until we meet again
