Ann Marie Woods, 79, passed away peacefully on November 26. Born in Springfield, MA, she was the beloved daughter of Edward and Della Kuras. Ann was a devoted wife to the late William "Bill" Woods and a loving mother to Jeff and Dan. She cherished her family, especially her grandchildren Gabriel and Ciara.
Ann was known for her baking and cake decorating talents and worked nearly 20 years as a teacher's aide at Plains School in South Hadley. In retirement, she enjoyed life on Cape Cod, gardening, biking, and reading by the shore.
She is survived by her sons and their families, siblings Edward Kuras and Julie Deets, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 3, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held the following morning at 10:00 AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Ann Marie's name to the Alzheimer's Association.
