Ann Marley Wright
Ann Marley Wright, daughter of William Grady Marley and Rebecca Currie Marley, passed away on Feb. 21, 2024 in Sun City, Arizona, with her loving family by her side.
Ann was born in Lumber Bridge, a town settled by her Scottish ancestors. She attended Meredith College in Raleigh.
She married Robert Wright, also of Lumber Bridge, in 1956. Bobby worked for the US Fish and Wildlife Service and the family moved frequently, settling in Arizona.
Ann was a homemaker, field rep for Girl Scouts, nurse's aide at an elementary school, supervisor for an Elderhostel Program, State Parks volunteer and Umpqua River Lighthouse guide.
They frequently traveled in their RV. Ann is survived by her husband Robert, daughters Rebecca Wright, Susan Wright (Kelly Beaton) and Lisa Wright DeGroodt (Clarence DeGroodt); two grandchildren Marley DeGroodt (Jocy Suarez) and Clarence "Trey" DeGroodt.
A family service will take place in the future.

My deepest condolences to this family. Our families were members of the Lumber Bridge Presbyterian Church and in this small community most everyone was close to each other. May God grant peace to all.

Just the time together. Playing cards or taking a trip to eat at a restaurant on top of a mountain or preparing for a party. The time together is what I'll remember and miss. Ann will always be with me
